What is the Star Saver League?
This league is the next step up from our Life Saver League.
The big difference from the Life Savers (3 ,4,& 5 year olds) to the Star Savers is the games. Life Savers have festive contests while Star Savers have structured games. Each Saturday, teams play a game. Time is kept, but not the score. The goals of the Star Saver league are three fold:
· First, we want to teach the skills necessary to play the game.
· Second, we want each player to apply these new skills through the use of various teaching games.
· Third, we want to accomplish these first two goals by using fun methods of teaching our players. We stress learning skills, game concept and group play (not who wins the game or scores the most goals.)
The Star Saver League is not a competitive environment. We want each child to feel great about themselves and their play with others in a group setting. The coaches stay on the field with the players while the director supervises each game. We encourage all parents and coaches to praise each player.
Each practice and game takes place on Saturdays. After games, teams celebrate by having a small party! At the last game we will have a major party and a trophy presentation.
The Star Saver soccer league starts on Saturday Septembe18
and ends on Saturday Oct. 30 The times for each session are each Saturday from 9 am to 11 am.
All activities take place at the Lindenwood ball field.
Each session includes a skill clinic followed by a teaching game.
Uniform tops are included with cost.
You must be registered prior to the start date. Forms are available at the front desk of the Life Center.
